One of the greatest sporting events will be racing along the roads of Cambridgeshire this summer. On Monday 7 July, Cambridge will host the start of the third stage of 'Le Tour De France' 2014. In celebration of this event, Cambridgeshire County Council announces the Cycle Legacy Small Grant Fund.

Small grants are available and will be awarded to local groups and organisations to support activities or events linked to and inspired by cycling or the race. We would like you to design and deliver activities within your community that involve and motivate people to create a lasting and positive legacy to mark this historic occasion for Cambridgeshire.

Each grant will be up to a maximum of £500 and additional funding or support in kind will be expected. The grants are being awarded in rounds. The deadline for the next round is 7 March. The deadline for the last round will be 11 April.

The parish council has agreed to increase allotment rents as from October 2013. The rent for a whole (10 pole) allotment will stay at £25. Half an allotment will be £15. One third-size allotment will be £10.

Please note that if this causes genuine financial hardship the council will look sympathetically on any request for a reduction in the rent.
